I like the blog and hope that we keep it. I believe that this is a great place to post information that can be of benefit to the riders in between our meetings and for those that can't make it to the meetings.

Under the heading of: "This happened to me ..." In 1973, a long time riding buddy purchased a new Kawasaki 750 Mach IV two stroke three cylinder motorcycle. He was bragging about how evilly fast the Kaw was. I was skeptical as I had seen all two stroke street bikes as “Ladies Bikes”. I questioned his choice of motorcycles. He had been talking about buying a KZ 900 Kawasaki. When offered the opportunity to ride his bike, I accepted. I started down the street easy in first and second just in case he wasn’t all brag. In third at thirty miles per hour, I opened the throttle some and then a little more. The intake was making a murmuring sound and I was thinking, “What a bunch of bu---“. I hit the power band and suddenly I had a face full of interment cluster. The bike was near vertical on the rear wheel. My feet came off the pegs and as I was sliding off the seat, I had the presence of mind to chop the throttle. I was hanging onto the handle bar with all I had when the front came down fast; the trebuchet effect tossed me up on the instrument cluster. With my waist on the speedo/tach and my nose just inches from the front finder, I lost momentum. The Mach IV and I fell hard on the right side. I bought a front brake lever and upper right muffler for my friend and I had my first and only case of road rash.

Any chance that we could get a link set up to download the various membership applications that can be filled out offline. I am willing to scan them and turn it into a pdf file if someone will provide the initial forms. Ken

The Toys run Saturday read "Run starts at 9;45" in the Hanford Sentinel, but the page on our website says 9:15. Anyone know where the missprint is?

I had posted before about a jacket that I have, if anyone knows a rider that needs a 4XL, I have one and am willing to give it up at no cost for someone that would use it.

Please feel free to join the local CMA chapter on the March ride to a museum in Coalinga. We are meeting at Farmer Boys in Hanford at 1130 with a 1230 depart time on Saturday, March 10th. We will take an interesting route, take a tour at the museum, then have lunch in the park before returning to Hanford. Bring a sack lunch. ALL WELCOME

The CMAers that will be helping with parking and security for the convention will be needing (4) fluorescent or bright hats to be visible for traffic. Reflective vests will not work as we are prohibited from covering our colors. Also, there was a mention about radios. They aren't a deal breaker, but would make things a lot easier.

I'm a newer member and would like to help with the American Legion Riders convention that is coming up soon. I'm not able make it to the meetings on Tuesday evening due to a welding class I'm taking. Anybody know who I should contact? I figure I can help with cleanup or security (if you trust me).
